Consultation on Admission Criteria for 2018-19

In accordance with the School Admissions Code 2014, Wilson’s School are consulting on draft Admission Criteria for 2018/19 entry. This consultation period will run until Tuesday 31st January 2017 and all comments or feedback are welcomed by no later than this date, via the following:

The draft Admission Criteria for 2018/19 can be viewed here. The document also gives details of the information that will be required by the online registration form, which is the school’s Supplementary Information Form.
The proposed amendments to our Admission Criteria for 2018/19 are in summary, as follows:

1. For Year 7 entry in relation to those deemed to be selective ability following the entrance tests:
     a) The addition of a Looked After Children or Previously Looked After Children criterion
     b) The addition of a criterion making 10 places available for boys eligible to receive Free School Meals
2. The addition of a random ballot if two applications cannot be separated in any other way (for Year 7 and Year 12 entry)
3. Amending the Sixth Form (Year 12) entry requirements to take account of numerical GCSE Grades by introducing academic entry criteria based on a total points score.
