Year 10 Assessment Schedule

  • Each term your son will be formally assessed in each of his subjects.
  • The number of assessments will differ from subject to subject, based upon the number of lessons that your son has i.e. if a boy has more timetabled lessons within a subject area, he will have a greater number of assessments in that subject.
  • These assessments are common across departments. All teachers within a department set the same formal assessments and mark to the same standards. However, subject teachers will invariably set other homework pieces and these may not be common across departments in terms of the task or the timing.
  • Assessments are marked either summatively and or formatively. Formative marking is where a target for future improvement is given. The assessments which will be formatively marked are marked with an * below.
  • The marks given for assessments are stored on electronic mark books and then issued to parents at the end of each term.
